Red Hat: Ubuntu no competition in the high end

Asked about the threat from the latest release of Ubuntu Linux, which marks the distribution's foray into the enterprise Linux space, Crenshaw said: “Their user base is still small, so we're not seeing the impact of it [Ubuntu] so far.”He noted that vendors who move into the enterprise Linux space will face barriers. For instance, they need to achieve a “critical mass” of users before hardware and software vendors certify their products against any Linux distribution, he explained.
