Using Tor with Debian GNU/Linux is very simple. First, the Tor docs for Linux are clear and easy to follow. For Sid/Unstable, Tor is included in the regular Debian package pool. For Sarge/Stable or Etch/Testing you'll need to include an additional /etc/apt/sources.list line. Tor depends on several other Debian packages. Of these packages, Tor requires you to make a couple of simple edits to the Privoxy package's config file; and again, these are explained in Tor's Linux docs.
