Lars Wirzenius, a Debian developer, reports about “Project Ummikko”, which he used as an experiment to test the usability of Debian GNU/Linux and GNOME on a female friend. Some six month later he summarises the experiences in his blog: “I was pleasantly surprised by the results. I had expected much worse problems, but I'm happy to report now that Linux really does seem ready for the average Windows user.”
