Obviously, someone had to react — Adrian von Bidder, Debian and Linux Torvalds: «Somebody should convince Linus that he should give Debian a try. His implicit claim that Debian is hard to install might have been true up to potato or woody, but I've always found sarge and certainly etch a pleasant experience to install, in some aspects even much better than the leading commercial distributions.» True.
