Mepis 6.5 installed easy enough. It took about half an hour and considering it includes a complete office suite it’s excellent. All my hardware was detected and works with out any effort on my part. Using Synaptic the update process is as simple as can be. I’d have to rate Mepis as a DOES NOT SUCK!

Summing up, every situation is different and your results will differ. My hope is this little review will show that installing a modern Linux distribution like Mepis is not the formidable task you might have been led to believe. If you are having problems with Microsoft Windows looking for something different don’t be afraid of Linux. I especially recomend Mepis. Comments are welcomed.
