Debian-news is about one simple thing - news about Debian GNU/Linux and the top free distributions based on Debian GNU/Linux.

Debian 4 GNU/Linux with KDE

Anyone who really knows me knows I am a GNU/Linux user. My distribution of choice is Debian. It's currently at version 4 and named Etch.
There's a small surprise to be found here

Ubuntu is based on Debian foundations and an exceptional Linux distribution. Make no mistake, it is fully business ready either as a server or a personal desktop system. I like to get into the heart of the GNU/Linux system so I am using Debian.

Now if you are used to working with GNU/Linux then you may want to try Debian. It is, like Slackware, a pure pleasure to work with. I downloaded a net-install ISO from a close and fast Debian repository. Then I burned the ISO onto CD.
