OpenManage on Debian

With more and more Dell machines with perc raid controllers and redundant power supplies I thought that now would be a good time to try out the monster that is OpenManage again.

I suspected that I might have some ports open that I didn’t expect, but all I could see was SMUX. All looks relatively sensible. The firmware log events appear in syslog (apparently we’re running the wrong firmware version on the perc controllers, news to me), the Dell mibs are “walkable”, and I get traps (too many of them) when I pull out a power cable. Oh, and most importantly. the OpenNMS OmsaStorageMonitor works. I think I’m going to leave it for a couple of weeks, and then roll it out.
