It seems to me that the Debian project is not attempting to become a behemoth of a GNU+Linux distribution. It just seems to me to be an honest GNU+Linux distribution.

Sure, the number of packages available through the Debian repositories is pretty damn large, and, yes, the full Debian distribution takes up many CDs. But the project itself doesnt seem to have delusions of becoming the Microsoft of GNU+Linux, like I believe that Red Hat is heading towards.
