I use Debian based distros. My favourites are Ubuntu, Sidux and MEPIS. In fact, I am solidly in the Debian camp. Despite this I have a problem with Debian and Debian users. It goes like this.
You see Debian does not like these names. They use all of these programs, but insist on branding them with their own names. This is all fair. They are released under GPL. So what is the problem? If the GPL is good enough to allow Debian to use the programs, why cant they credit the developers by allowing the familiar names to stand?
