Depressed, and almost giving up, I came across MEPIS and since I didn’t yet know how to burn an iso image to a CD, I simply mailed off $10 and MEPIS sent me a Live CD. Certainly, this cheap ten buck distro couldn’t out perform the hundred dollar super distros. More here

Perhaps as a Live CD on a desktop computer, SimplyMEPIS 8.0 might just be the ticket. But on a laptop with a Broadcom card, the lights might have finally gone down on this fine distro. Although other Live CD distros might not even come close to the operability of MEPIS, I am still quite a bit disappointed. I actually would rather use the older version instead of this highly anticipated release.
