Debian uses the unbranded Firefox equivalent Iceweasel, which is just like Firefox but doesn’t included the copyrighted/trademarked Firefox logos or name. It’s part of Debian’s freedom thing, and I support it. However, when I try to use Iceweasel to access my Firefox-compatible Web app, I get an error message and can’t continue.

If you eat and drink open source, chances are high that you might have downloaded an open source project code, only to see files like: aclocal.m4, configure.ac, Makefile.am, Makefile.in and what not. You might have also used commands like ./configure, make etc but what are these files?

I’ve only had it installed for about a half hour now, but it’s pretty snappy on my old system and even has some good Compiz effects running. I also like that Iceweasle is the default browser.

I use CFengine for automation of different taks like copying config files from one place to nodes, reloading services after this, etc. And recently i configured it to check and install packages for different boxes depending on their role.

This tutorial will explain you how to boot from a BTRFS filesystem with kernel 2.6.31-RC4 and BTRFS 0.19. BTRFS is a new filesystem with some really interesting features like online defragmenting and snapshots. BTRFS is an experimental filesystem, use at your own risk. The kernel used is also experimental.
