Debian-news is about one simple thing - news about Debian GNU/Linux and the top free distributions based on Debian GNU/Linux.

DebConf13 – Sponsored registration date has been extended to 2013-05-19

The deadline for sponsored registration for DebConf13 in Switzerland,
originally 2013-05-15, has officially been extended to Sunday May 19th.
After this deadline you won’t be able to apply for sponsored food,
accomodation or travel anymore.

If you are paying for yourself, registration is still possible after
Sunday May 19th. From then we will allocate the remaining rooms on a
first-come first-served basis, without giving Debian contributors any
preference. Non-contributors registering before the deadline will be
offered rooms ahead of contributors registering after the deadline. If
you are a Debian contributor, please register before the deadline even
if you do not plan to apply for sponsorship – otherwise there may be
no space left for you.

Those who have been involved in, or contributed to Debian or to other
open source projects are eligible to apply for sponsorship, which will
be decided on a case-by-case basis. The professional and corporate
categories are for those who are sent and sponsored by their
companies. Professional registration covers the actual costs of
conference attendance, while corporate registration is just over
double that price, and is aimed at those who, besides paying the
actual costs, also want to contribute money and help Debian.

For details about the registration process see – please remember to tick
the box marked “I want to attend this conference”.
