Dear project members, here is my monthly DPL activity report, this time for last March. It is delayed by a couple of weeks because, myself being both incumbent and candidate DPL, I preferred not to use d-d-a during the voting period unless really needed. Apologies for the delay (or the unneeded paranoia, you name it).

The fifth Debian Groupware Meeting[1] was held in the LinuxHotel, Essen, Germany[2]. Eight persons attended which is an all time high! This is a short summary of what happened during the weekend:

Debian Edu aka Skolelinux is a Linux distribution based on Debian providing an out-of-the box environment of a completely configured school network. It contains setup for a school server, PXE booting for diskless machines, setup for installing stationary workstations and setup for workstations that can be taken away from the school network.

The Debian Project maintains a critical stance towards software patents: we consider software patents to be a threat to Free Software and an obstacle to the Debian mission of providing an entirely Free operating system for everyone’s use.
